abnobaVISCUM

abnobaVISCUM® is produced by the company Abnoba

in Pforzheim, Germany. The host trees are fir (Abietis), maple (Aceris), almond (Amygdali), birch (Betulae), hawthorn (Crategi), ash (Fraxini), apple (Mali), pine (Pini) and oak (Quercus) in various strengths (20 mg, 2 mg, 0.2 mg and 0.02 mg as well as D6, D10, D20 and D30).

All abnobaVISCUM® mistletoe preparations are pressed juices from mistletoe leaves, stems and berries. The mistletoes are harvested, separated by host trees, in summer and winter. The pressed juice is extracted in an aqueous extracting agent under exclusion of air according to a patented process so that three quarters of the plant material used is available in extracted form. This high yield leads to abnobaVISCUM® preparations having a very high concentration of mistletoe constituents while at the same time being well tolerated.

After extraction, the summer and winter press juices – sorted according to harvest time and host trees – are mixed together at room temperature in a special patented flow process. This is followed by dilution or potentiation according to the homeopathic pharmacopoeia and sterile filling into ampoules.

The mistletoe branches are pressed out in a powerful pressing machine. This pressed juice is then used for further processing.

Frozen branches from the mistletoe harvest are gently thawed for further processing.

The freshly pressed mistletoe juice is grass green before being further processed in a special procedure.

Typical for abnobaVISCUM® of 20 mg is its yellow-green colour. It is due to the special extraction process of the pressed juice, which contains fat-related components, so-called membrane lipids, in the form of very small vesicles (liposomes). These are made up of the naturally occurring walls (membranes) of plant cells and contain, among other things, the fat-soluble green plant pigment chlorophyll.
